Harry Kane Will Stay At Spurs - Here’s Why

Right now isn’t exactly the best time to admit to being a Spurs fan. No manager, no European football, stuck behind West Ham, and now at risk of losing their one and only hope of retaining any sort of dignity from the 2021 Premier League season. In an interview that has since gone viral, Harry Kane stood for a chat with Gary Neville and discussed his desire to move past Spurs and start clearing off some of the cobwebs of his very empty trophy cabinet. However, this isn’t something we haven’t seen before and in my mind will undoubtedly end with Kane remaining in the number 10 shirt at Spurs for the foreseeable future.

There’s no question that Harry Kane is a world class talent and has the price tag to match. Any big club that want the chance at signing Kane are going to have to liquidate a serious amount of Bitcoin in order for Spurs to let him go and is valued at around £77 million according to data from the CIES Football Inventory. At 27 years old and arguably coming off his best season to date he has led the Premier League in both goals (22) and assists (13) - a accomplishment that ought to drive the price even further up. So that put’s him squarely in the minds of the big 4 money teams in club football: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City and PSG - all of which are in the market for a skilled striker like Kane.

However, I’m afraid Kane isn’t going anywhere. Despite troubles from a managerial standpoint, Spurs started the season as one of the underdog favourites to challenge for the Premier League title, but Jose Mourinho apparently had other plans in Roma? Nevertheless, on paper Spurs are a title winning side with supporting acts in the form of Heung-Min Son, Hugo Lloris, and Dele Ali, all of whom have shown to be world class players in their own right. So all it’s going to take from the bigwigs at Tottenham is another big bucks contract and a promise to find a manager who doesn’t have commitments elsewhere. With the right man on the sidelines, Spurs have already shown they can make a big impact on the European stage, marching all the way through to the Champions League Final just 2 short seasons ago - and with a fully fit Harry Kane they might of even won it.

Strangely “I want to leave” doesn’t really carry much of a punch in modern day football and is simply a negotiation tactic that Kane’s agent has cleverly whispered in his ear. His interview with Gary Neville has done nothing more than up his transfer value and urged the Spurs chairman to turn the printer on to get his new contract extension warm and ready to sign. Kane might admit his tolerance is wearing thin with the still trophy-less Spurs but it’s funny what £200,000 a week can do to help a mans patience for just a couple seasons longer - more than enough time for Spurs to at least put something on the mantle piece and convince Kane to remain in North London.

On the other hand, Magic is ultimately the most diverged the point guard position has ever become. Hot Take: Haas Are The Ones To Watch in 2022

Haas has become a diminishing entity in the world of Formula One for several seasons now. Debuting in 2018, the US-owned Haas has gone from top 4 contenders, to back of the pack scrappers, all in the space of 3 seasons. However, heading in 2021, Haas team principal Guenther Steiner decided to make no significant car developments and instead pool all available resources into 2022. Is it a touch of genius or does it mark the final nail in the coffin?  2022 signals a breath of fresh air for Haas and Guenther Steiner. Not only do the upcoming regulation changes promise to bring more dramatic racing back to Formula One, but could also significantly reshuffle the F1 food chain. So, whilst teams such as Mercedes and Red Bull continue to develop this year's car in their hopes to make their drivers world champions, Haas could have the capability to make a shock return to the top in 2022.  Romain Grosjean driving the VF-20 during the pre-season tests in Barcelona - Wikimedia Commons As ...

F1’s “Silly Season” - The World’s Most Expensive Game of Musical Chairs

With 4 races down and 18 to go, the 2021 Formula One season looks as it’s going deliver on it’s promise to bring back exciting motorsport. From front to back, the F1 back is filled with interesting driver matchups that aim to entertain right up to the chequered flag - a blessing compared to the 1 lap exhilaration that F1 fans have grown accustomed to over the last few years. However, whilst the racing certainly is fast, team principles patience isn’t and therefore some interesting driver changes are already appearing on the horizon - F1’s “Silly Season” has officially begun.  Over the winter break, the main story in F1 was Lewis Hamiltons contract, which remained unsigned until only a month before 2021’s inaugural race in Bahrain. Unfortunately for most, it seems Lewis is here to stay, winning 3 out of the 4 opening races and opening the door to Toto Wolf for a 2-year contract extension which would keep him in the lead Mercedes until 2023. Whilst this does all kinds of good for Ham...
